What the floor looked like before

SMX manufactures wiring harnesses and connectors for OEM customers who require batch traceability on every lot supplied. The traceability records lived in Excel, updated by hand, and were always a day or two behind production. When an OEM asked for a trace on a batch, which raw material lot, which production run, which operator, assembling the answer took hours of cross-referencing spreadsheets and registers, and the records were not always complete.

What was set up

On FleekERP

FleekERP was configured to SMX's wiring harness production flow. Component and wire lots are issued to the work order and recorded at each operation on the operators' phones. Lot genealogy builds as production happens. Every finished harness lot links back to the raw material lots, the production run and the operators who worked it. When an OEM requests a trace, the full genealogy is pulled from one search instead of reconstructed from spreadsheets.
