Inventory and traceability
Know every lot, and where it went
Material is received, issued and consumed by lot against the work order, so stock reflects what the floor used. Shortages name the order they will stop. Any lot traces forward to the orders and shipments it went into, and any finished item traces back to the lots inside it.

Stock and BOM
Available, allocated, consumed and pending
Each item shows what is on hand by lot and location, what is allocated to released orders, what has been consumed against completed operations and what is on order. The BOM is multi-level, and the explosion at release reserves material per operation.
- Issue by lot, against the orderStores issues a lot to a work order. Consumption is recorded when the operation completes, so stock moves with the floor, not at month end.
- Multi-level BOM, frozen at releaseThe BOM version used for an order is locked when the order is released. Engineering changes tomorrow do not change today's cost or trace.
- Shortage that names the orderA short item shows the order it will stop and when. Approved alternates appear next to a blocked item.
- Subcontract material tracked out and backMaterial sent on a challan is expected back as quantity. A short return is flagged on the operation.

What management sees
Trace any lot forward, any item back
Search a raw material lot and see the work orders it was issued to, the finished lots that came out of them and the delivery notes they shipped on. Search a finished lot and see the material lots, the operators and the inspections inside it. One search, one screen.

Questions about inventory and traceability
Do operators have to record consumption?
No. Consumption is calculated from the BOM when an operation completes, against the lots issued to the order. Operators log counts and scrap. Stores records issues and receipts.
Does it handle alternates and substitutes?
Yes. An approved alternate is defined on the BOM line. When the primary item is short, the alternate shows on material readiness, and the issue records which one was used.
How fast is a trace for a customer audit?
One search. SMX Enterprises, a wiring harness manufacturer in Bengaluru, pulls a full lot trace in under three minutes during an OEM audit. It used to take hours from Excel sheets.
Does stock sync with Tally or Zoho?
Purchases, sales and stock values sync to Tally or Zoho for the books. Stock movement by lot stays in FleekERP, where the floor records it.
